Though southwest Florida was hardly affected by the large winter storm that devastated the midsection of our country, the airlines were. As a result, the night before we were to leave, our connecting flight to Chicago O’Hare was canceled. We spent the next few hours on the phone with an airline scheduler trying to find an alternate plan only to find out there were either no planes or no seats. So we were forced to reschedule our entire front end of the trip. We are delayed for one week, leaving out of Miami on February 4.
We have learned over the years to take these interruptions in our stride. The devil always seems to have a plan… But God always has a better plan. So we can trust him when our plans get interrupted or detoured. We take comfort in the knowledge that our God is sovereign over all things. He often redirects human plans to align with his even if it brings temporary disappointment.

An Indian Sunset
- When the world says impossible… Our God says possible.
- When our hearts fail us… God is the strength of our hearts.
- When the door is slammed shut… God flings open a new door.
- When our minds are troubled… God says peace, be still.
Sadly, due to the delay, we have been forced to cancel our first conference. Please pray for Viju who works hard to organize these conferences and now must deconstruct this one. By God’s grace, the next blog will be written from 30,000 feet!
Many plans are in a man’s heart, but the council of the Lord will stand. Proverbs 19:21
