It sure did get quiet once the team left. They are now safely home in America and I’m sure each one is processing all that they took part in and experienced. Sal, Elena, Viju and Ammu took a two day R&R in preparation for the next round of conferences. We drove on Saturday to a city about two hours away. On Sunday morning Sal preached back to back for two services. He spoke on learning from Israel’s mistakes.
We spent the afternoon touring the city. There is a strong presence of England’s past presence here. There are many architectural structures and cathedrals that were built during the time that England ruled India as a territory. We were even able to stop for special snacks in the middle of the day… Bruschetta and fried mozzarella sticks at a New York Style Italian restaurant! Later on, we enjoyed fellowship at the home of the pastor and his wife. She cooked an amazing dinner for us which consisted of chicken and beef in curry sauces, coconut rice, vegetables and chapatti.
On Monday, Elena spoke at a woman’s conference on faith under construction. What a blessed time with over 100 women. It was extremely exciting to see so many younger women attending. They were very encouraged by the teaching and felt what they learned would make them better wives and mothers.
On Tuesday Sal conducted a two session conference on The Rapture and Second Coming. Nearly 200 pastors and church leaders attended. One pastor said, “We are so thankful for what we heard today. We have learned so much from these teachings.” After the conference we served a delicious lunch to all and we packed up and made the two hour trip back to our jungle home.
We call it the Lighthouse but for us it is a refuge house from the hectic schedules. In Tamil the word refuge also means shelf. In a way the Lighthouse is a shelf that we can rest on until the next round of ministry begins. We have kept a light calendar for the remainder of this week. Next week Sal and Viju come off the shelf once again and will be leaving for a few days to meet with pastors 581 KM from here. Ammu and Elena will stay back to work with the Joyful Weave Widows and restocking the plastic wire for the purses and totes.
Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?” And Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
Please pray that we all stay healthy and safe while Sal and Viju are away.
