After nearly 26 hours of travel we landed safely in Bangalore. Even though we did not arrive at the Samuel home until after 2 AM, Thomas and Maykutty happily welcomed us. It has only been 9 months since we were last here and the city seems more crowded than ever. More noise and more pollution are other obvious conditions. There is much construction and road repair going on. Unfortunately, the ever expanding population makes it impossible to reach a better standard of living.
Today we spent the day collecting supplies for our stay at Quiet Corner and the upcoming mission teams and conferences. We purchased a new printer which is necessary for getting handouts, schedules and calendars supplied for conference attendees. Jaya and I took an auto-rickshaw to Commercial Street to buy gifts for Tushura’s upcoming 9th birthday. Sal, Thomas, Paul and Viju went car shopping. They agreed on a very useful vehicle that we could use while we are here, and QCI can use to pick up visitors from airports and bus stations the rest of the year.
Tomorrow we will celebrate Tushura’s birthday at noon. In the evening we will be having dinner with our friend Ashwath, his wife and baby boy at the Bible College were he works. There is a possibility that a conference will be arranged on campus in late March or early April.
We will complete our shopping on Sunday and leave early Monday morning for Quiet Corner. It is time to get ready for Christmas in the Jungle. Our team will arrive on December 18. What a joy to celebrate this Christmas with them!
As I laid in bed in the early hours of the morning, I could hear the distant chanting of worshipers in the local temple seeking the favor of a deity that can not hear them. And I am reminded of the over one billion people who live here and have never heard the name of Jesus. And I am humbled remembering a time when I was no different. . . yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist. 1 Corinthians 8:6latest Running Sneakers | Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘University Blue’ — Ietp
